About Us

Queen City Theatre was created in the summer of 2022 by Rylie Latham and Suz Pontillo.

Who We Are:

Queen City Theatre is an artistic collective with a mission to create theatre in and around Seattle that is inclusive and thought-provoking. We aim to cultivate a collaborative space where artists can experiment, play, and be celebrated.

Mission:

Queen City Theatre strives to amplify voices that are not often heard through the stories we tell.

We will do this by creating magic though provocative, collaborative, experimental, and intersectional theatre. This magic will allow our audience to feel seen, while experiencing curiosity, empathy, and connection that will stay with them long after our production ends.

We are committed to creating a community that is focused on inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.

Founders

Rylie Latham (she/they)

Rylie is so grateful to get the opportunity to give back to this beautiful city through theatrical art. She has a BA from Eastern Washington University in Theatre and a minor in Dance. They have been a dancer, actor, choreographer, assistant artistic director, assistant director, and director and thought they’d try their hand at running a business. Rylie lives with her forever scene partner and spouse, their dramatic and beautiful daughter, and their “meow meow.”

Suz Pontillo (she/they)

Suz is a first generation Chilean-American from Miami, Florida. They moved to Seattle with their partner and two cats in July 2020 and has had the pleasure of performing in productions for Burien Actors Theatre, Tacoma Arts Live, and Strawberry Theatre Workshop Director’s Festival. She has a BS from the University of Central Florida in Hospitality Management, and is so excited to create a space where her and her friends can experiment, play, and perform.
